I disagree with you on two things. We have to get off fossil fuels or our civilization will be crushed by the disasters brought upon us by climate destabilization. All of our energy must come from renewables. So that means the parts of the economy that can’t be converted (because we only have so much time and so many resources for conversion) are going to collapse. Let’s be clear about this, Michael. I do not have a plan for converting our current economy to a renewably-powered one. We are building a new economic and energy infrastructure, and only the parts of the current economy that can fit into the new infrastructure are going to continue onward. You’re right that we can’t power the current industrial society with renewables.

Re potential for change. What you say is true until it isn’t. I never expected to bankrupt a GMO company and shut down the entire atmospheric microbe sector of the industry (for 25 years now!!). I’ve done a number of things that no one else has done. That’s why the BBC considers me a World Historic Figure. So the name of the game is David and Goliath and “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” It’s about inventing a method with the methods of my campaign to get known enough to win using the internet and community grassroots organizing to get 5, 10 or 20 more Michael Moores’s, Amy Goodman’s, and Andy Caffrey’s in Congress over the next four years. That’s all it would take to shut down boondoggle and military spending and corporate welfare.

In the mean time, I can raise Holy Hell from the floor of the House and keep on organizing Americans outside of Congress. What you and I both can do is get the vision and pragmatics of the New Green America paradigm “of a decentralized society based on local economies, local politics, production for local consumption, and mutual aid” out to the American public. Then a whole bunch of them will start to demand it. I’m already crushing all of my opponents with it. I make it crystal clear in my interview and debates that there are no jobs on a dead planet, no healthcare on a dead planet, etc. Then when they say simplistic things about “creating jobs” and “clean energy” it just sounds pathetically inadequate!

You do know, of course, that the entire political process is corrupt and run by money from big corporations and their lackeys. You know that don’t you? Don’t expect to change it. The economic and political powers are far greater than any of us at the grass roots.

That being said, your candidacy is a forum to talk about real alternatives in the national arena. Emphasize Bioregionalism and Ecology. Provide a clear alternative to the status quo and stick to it come Hell or high water… mostly Hell.

Forget about how we can “power our civilization entirely with renewable energy sources”. It ain’t gonna happen. Be honest. Be real. We can carpet the globe with solar panels and wind generators and still not have enough energy to keep this insane “civilization” afloat. The growth maniacs have had their time. It’s time to build a political and economic system that is part of, not apart from, the biosphere.

Provide the vision of a decentralized society based on local economies, local politics, production for local consumption, and mutual aid. No one else is articulating this vision.

If you don’t say this now, you won’t have another chance in your lifetime, even if you live that long.

Also, you need a good copy editor. There are two incomplete sentences in the material above, and several good ideas that are not clearly articulated. Everything on your web site should be proofed and edited, and your site organized to provide information for interested visitors right up front. Your web site needs good organization and optimization to get the best notice and following.

People outside of the district can forward the link to this site and the flyer to everyone in their network. As you can see, we’re talking about a new political agenda that counters the Tea Party. Let’s get the country talking about this! It’s really not that complicated! Talk it up! Call talk radio. We need to shift the framing of these issues in the minds of everybody. This is the path out of so many of our problems. So let’s demand that our government get on it already today!

I’m going to be producing some videos on the New Green America agenda designed to be informative and fun, which people anywhere can show at house parties and other political discussions.
